4.1. Visit our website
DHL SOLUTIONS is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to its website. When you visit our website, our web servers temporarily store the connection data of the requesting computer. This connection data includes the web pages you visit on our site, the date and duration of your visit, your device's IP address, the identification data of the browser and operating system you are using, and the website from which you accessed our site. This temporary storage of data is necessary during your visit to the website to enable us to provide you with the website. This data is also stored in log files. In this way, we ensure the functionality of the website and the security of our IT systems. For these purposes, we have a legitimate interest in processing this data. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR. We do not collect any further personal data, such as your name, address, telephone number, or email address, unless you provide this information voluntarily, e.g., by filling out a contact form. For example, when filling out an online contact form, as part of a registration, a survey, a competition, the fulfillment of a contract or an information request.
The legal basis for processing the aforementioned data categories is consent within the meaning of Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). How the user can withdraw their consent to future processing will be explained when obtaining the corresponding consent.
The data will be stored until the user requests its deletion in accordance with Article 17 of the GDPR. We also use cookies, tracking tools, and audience targeting. Please see section 4.4 for further details.
4.2. Performance of a contract
For contractual reasons, we also require personal data to provide our services and fulfill our obligations under contractual agreements with you. This data is used, for example, to execute (transportation) contracts, manage customer data, process payments, and, if necessary, assess creditworthiness. Certain shipment data is also transmitted to the authorities of the transit or destination country for customs clearance, issuing a tax clearance certificate, or security checks in accordance with the regulations of the respective country. The information typically transmitted includes: the sender's name and address, the recipient's name and address, a description of the goods, and the quantity, weight, and value of the shipment.
The legal basis is usually Article 6 paragraph 1 letters b and c GDPR, as the processing in connection with the performance of a contract with you must comply with the legal requirements.
Further information on data protection for specific services and products may be available in connection with the respective product/service at Data Protection & Cookies.
4.3. Processing for advertising purposes
If you are an existing customer, your postal data (e.g., name and address) will be processed to contact you and send you current information about offers, news, products, and services. In addition to any previously given consent, we will process your email address solely to send you information about our products and services, where legally permissible.
The legal basis for the aforementioned processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The processing of customer data for the purpose of direct marketing is considered processing carried out in the legitimate interest of the controller.
You have the right to object to this processing at any time. If you wish to exercise your right, simply contact us using the contact details provided above in section 3.

To maintain the relevance, user-friendliness, and timeliness of DHL's online content, we use web analytics services such as Webtrends (see the Webtrends entry in DHL's cookie table above for more information) to understand how people use our websites. These services use data collection technologies such as tracking pixels. This allows us to learn which content is of interest to our visitors and offer personalized information on our websites. These tracking pixels are anonymous and do not contain any information that can identify you. The information is also anonymous and is used exclusively for statistical purposes. This web analytics data and these cookies cannot identify you as an individual, as they never contain personal information such as your name or email address.
